Team Development and Facilitation
How many times have leaders come to you with a request for "team building??" While it's nice for people to get to know each other on a different level, and have fun (helps with team trust), these exercises alone, will not lead your team to high performance. The literature supports several key factors that are critical to team success. Viewfinder Coaching and Consulting is committed to using a theoretical framework in supporting your team's success.
- Team Assessment: Viewfinder Coaching and Consulting utilizes a validated team assessment tool and process to determine strengths, and opportunities for development and impact. The assessment process will include an electronic instrument as well as in person interviews. Qualitative results (information gleaned from dialogue) are just as important as quantitative (survey) results.
- Targeted Interventions: Based on assessment results, interventions may include areas such as: establishing trust, establishing expectations and team performance goals, clarifying roles and responsibilities, strengthening leadership presence, improving decision-making, creating accountability, and effectively managing conflict.
- Team Coaching: In-the-moment coaching to support immediate application of learning and positive team behaviors. Team leader engagement and active participation critical for success. An executive coach will work with the team leader to determine goals, identify barriers and growth/development opportunities.
Strength Deployment Inventory: Relationship Awareness and Conflict Management
The SDI is an assessment tool that looks at how you use your strengths when things are going well, and when you're in conflict. It looks at your motivational values.... values that have been consistent throughout life and that are the foundation for much of your behavior. Your zone of leadership effectiveness most often comes from your passions and values. Are you someone driven to achieve results and "get things done?" Are you someone who is tuned in to others and have dedicated your life in service to others? Are you known for your problem-solving and rational, analytic thinking? And, can you easily go with the flow and bring a team together toward a common goal?
